Me

Katherine Mather - Clinical Supervisor
she / her / hers
Registered Member MBACP (Dip. Couns)

How I Can Help You

I am experienced in providing supervision to both qualified and trainee counsellors who work with young people and / or adults and I currently do so both privately and for external agencies. Additionally, for those professionals already working as supervisors I can provide ‘supervision of your supervision’ sessions.

My training also equips me to facilitate therapeutic supervision groups for counsellors or those who work as mental health professionals, or in skilled support roles with adults and / or young people.

Working Together

My approach to supervision utilises the Alliance Model (Proctor) which supports the balance between the different aspects of supervision (normative, formative and restorative).

I believe that a relational approach to supervision is key to being able to develop and sustain rich working relationships, and to help facilitate this I incorporate the Seven-Eyed Model of Supervision (Hawkins and Shohet) into our work. This helps to focus in on areas in a way which is responsive to what is being brought into the room and the context of our relationship - ultimately helping to develop your practice and support client wellbeing.

As the relationship we build together is a vital part of the supervision process, I offer a 20 minute introductory telephone call or Zoom at no charge, so that we can see how we connect and to talk through your supervision needs.

Experience

I bring in-depth knowledge and experience, having previously worked as a core tutor on professional counselling training courses for working with adults, children and young people - most recently CPCAB Diploma and Certificate qualifications at Levels 4 and 5. I am also a very experienced integrative counsellor and over time I have worked in a range of settings, now solely in private practice.

Qualifying as a clinical supervisor in 2021, my formal training is a CPCAB Level 5 Certificate in Relational Supervision – Children, Young People and Adult Focus. My therapeutic modality is integrative, humanistic and relational.

Me

I am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work in accordance with the BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions.

Appointments & Fees

I have my own dedicated private office, located in a peaceful, rural location with free parking on site. My office is situated on the first floor and accessed via a staircase.

Supervision sessions are available in-person or on Zoom, with appointments during the daytime, Monday – Friday. Please contact me to discuss your supervision needs.

My fee is based (pro-rata) on £60 per 60 minutes for qualified counsellors / £50 per 60 minutes for counsellors undertaking their qualifying training. The minimum session length I offer is 30 minutes.
